Surface Protection Films

Manufacturer & Exporter of Surface Protection Films

Ikon Multipack is a leading surface protection film manufacturer and exporter based in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India. As an ISO 9001:2015 certified company established in 1998, we manufacture high-quality co-extruded LDPE and HDPE surface protection films designed to safeguard surfaces from scratches, dust, dirt, moisture, and abrasion during manufacturing, transportation, storage, and installation. Our films serve diverse industries including glass manufacturing, metal fabrication, furniture production, automotive, construction, and electronics. With state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities and a commitment to quality, we have grown into a trusted partner for over 50 countries worldwide, exporting to USA, UAE, UK, China, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and beyond.

Whether you need non-glue static cling films for stainless steel and glass, or glue-based adhesive films for textured panels and ACP, our custom specifications range from 30 to 200 microns in thickness with widths up to 2000 mm. Every roll we produce meets stringent quality standards backed by Bureau Veritas certification, ensuring residue-free removal and long-lasting protection your business can rely on.

What is Surface Protection Film?

Surface protection film is a temporary self-adhesive plastic film applied to delicate or finished surfaces to prevent damage during the various stages of manufacturing, processing, transit, storage, and installation. Also known as masking film or protective film, it acts as a removable barrier shielding the underlying surface from scratches, dust accumulation, dirt particles, moisture exposure, mechanical abrasion, and UV degradation.

The film is engineered with a polyethylene base material — typically LDPE (Low-Density Polyethylene), HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene), or a co-extruded multilayer polyethylene structure — that provides flexibility, conformability, and tear resistance. Depending on the application, the film either uses a low-tack acrylic adhesive coating or relies on static cling (non-adhesive) for residue-free removal.

Surface protection films are widely used by manufacturers, fabricators, glaziers, furniture producers, sheet metal processors, automotive OEMs, and construction material suppliers. They are essential for high-value finished surfaces such as stainless steel sheets, mirror glass, painted aluminium, polished wood panels, and architectural composite panels (ACP), where even minor surface damage can render an expensive product unsellable.

Types of Surface Protection Film We Manufacture

As a complete surface protection film manufacturer and exporter India, Ikon Multipack offers a comprehensive range of film variants tailored to diverse application needs. Each variant is engineered with specific adhesion characteristics, base materials, and thickness profiles to suit different substrates and end-use requirements.

Non-Glue Static Cling Surface Protection Film

Our non-glue surface protection films use a co-extruded tacky layer technology that grips surfaces through static cling rather than adhesive coating. This design delivers completely residue-free removal — ideal for high-value finished surfaces like stainless steel mirror polish, glass panels, anodised aluminium, and decorative laminates where any adhesive residue is unacceptable. Available in thickness from 30 to 100 microns.

Glue-Based Adhesive Surface Protection Film

For textured, embossed, porous, or irregular surfaces requiring stronger tack, we manufacture glue-based films with custom acrylic adhesive coatings. Adhesion levels range from low-tack (5–15 g/25mm) to high-tack (30–50 g/25mm), allowing us to match the exact substrate requirement. Suitable for ACP panels, PVC profiles, gypsum boards, painted metals, and powder-coated surfaces.

Co-extruded Multilayer Films

Our advanced 5-layer co-extrusion blown film line produces multilayer surface protection films that combine durability with cost efficiency. These films deliver enhanced UV stability (up to 6 months outdoor durability), tear resistance, and consistent thickness across width — engineered for industrial-scale applications where reliability matters most.

Custom Specifications

Every Ikon Multipack surface protection film can be custom-manufactured to your exact specification — width, thickness, color, adhesion level, UV stabiliser package, and roll length. We produce films from 30 to 200 microns thick, in widths up to 2000 mm, and roll lengths up to 2,000 metres.

Industries We Serve

Our surface protection films are trusted across a wide range of industries, from precision glass fabrication to heavy-duty construction. Below are the major sectors where our products deliver consistent results.

Glass Industry

Float glass, tempered glass, mirror glass, and architectural glass manufacturers rely on our UV-resistant surface protection films during cutting, edging, transport, and installation. Our non-glue static cling variants are particularly popular for high-end mirror and decorative glass applications. Learn more on our Glass Industry page.

Metal Industry

Stainless steel mills, aluminium fabricators, galvanised steel suppliers, and pre-painted metal sheet processors use our films to protect finished surfaces from scratches and corrosion during shipping and downstream processing. Adhesion levels are precisely matched to substrate finish — from brushed stainless to mirror-polished aluminium. See Metal Industry applications.

Furniture Industry

Furniture manufacturers, panel producers, and laminate suppliers protect MDF, polished wood, high-gloss panels, and decorative laminates with our residue-free films. Visit our Furniture page for details.

Construction & Building Materials

ACP (Aluminium Composite Panel) manufacturers, PVC profile producers, gypsum board suppliers, and finished construction material exporters use our heavy-duty films with strong UV resistance and acrylic adhesives.

Automotive & Transportation

OEM body panel manufacturers, painted parts processors, and automotive component logistics teams protect painted and pre-coated surfaces during transit. VCI (anti-corrosion) variants are also available.

Electronics & Appliances

LCD/LED panel manufacturers, white-goods producers, and consumer electronics OEMs use ESD-safe and anti-static variants for sensitive surface protection during assembly.

Our Manufacturing Capability

Ikon Multipack’s manufacturing facility in Gandhinagar (Gujarat) is equipped with advanced production equipment that enables us to deliver consistent quality at scale. Our integrated capabilities span from raw material processing to finished roll printing, all under one roof.

Multilayer Co-extrusion Blown Film Line

Our 5-layer co-extrusion blown film extrusion line allows us to produce sophisticated multilayer surface protection films, barrier films, and lamination films from LDPE, LLDPE, HDPE, EVOH, and PA polymers. This capability supports custom specifications including specialised barrier properties and structural strength.

Quality and Certifications

Quality is the cornerstone of Ikon Multipack’s reputation as a reliable surface protection film exporter India. Our manufacturing operations are certified to ISO 9001:2015 by Bureau Veritas, an internationally recognised certification body. This certification reflects our commitment to consistent process control, customer-focused quality management, and continuous improvement.

For customers in regulated markets, we also provide RoHS and REACH compliance documentation upon request, supporting your supply chain compliance requirements in European and other regulated jurisdictions. Where applicable, our films meet FDA food-contact regulations for indirect food packaging applications.

Every batch passes through quality control checks that verify thickness consistency, adhesion strength (peel force testing), tensile properties, surface energy, and visual clarity. Sample testing is available before bulk orders so you can validate the film against your exact substrate.

Frequently Asked Questions

Typical thickness ranges from 30 to 200 microns. Light-duty interior protection (e.g., decorative laminates, indoor mirrors) uses 30–50 microns. Medium-duty applications like glass and aluminium sheet protection use 50–100 microns. Heavy-duty applications such as stainless steel sheets, ACP panels, and pre-painted metals typically need 80–150 microns. We can recommend the optimal thickness once we understand your substrate and handling environment.

Our standard MOQ is 500 kg per specification for export orders and 100 kg for domestic Indian customers. Custom widths, thicknesses, and adhesion levels are available within these MOQs.

Once your specifications are confirmed, lead time for export shipments is typically 2 to 3 weeks. We support FOB and CIF shipping arrangements via Mundra and JNPT ports.
